About the UWEE Virtual Lab
The UWEE Virtual Lab gives students an alternative method of accessing most of the licensed software - Comsol, Matlab, Mathematica, Office, etc. - we have installed on the workstations in our instructional labs. Connecting to this service allows students to run UWEE software from elsewhere on campus - or even from home - using their PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, or Android device.
How to Access
The UWEE Virtual Lab is a Windows server which is accessed using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol.
To access the server, please follow the remote gateway access instructions found here. The server's name is rdp.ece.uw.edu
If you run into any problems or have any questions, please contact the ECE Computing help desk.
The software on this server is licensed for educational use only - NOT for research. Note that graduate students working on their thesis is the only exception to this rule.
Do not save any data on the server. Instead, save it to your U Drive. Your U Drive will be mounted automatically when you log onto the UWEE Virtual Lab.
Please remember to log off once you're finished.
Need some piece of software that's not on the server? Let us know about it!
