Second Annual Awards Day

Honoring Students, Faculty and Staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering

On Thursday, June 7, 4:30 - 5:30, the Department of Electrical Engineering is hosting its Second Annual Awards Day in the HUB Auditorium (see map).

This is a rare opportunity to recognize exceptional excellence in our department. As we strive to become one of the top ten Electrical Engineering Departments in the United States, we must cultivate and acknowledge outstanding performance by students, faculty and staff. These are the primary indicators of a top department.

The following awards will be presented at the event:

Student Awards

Yang Research Award

    Gift Amount: $2,500
    Criteria: Has done outstanding research in the field of electrical engineering at the University of Washington.
    Recipient: Agnieszka Miguel

WRF Outstanding Research Assistant Award

    Gift Amount: $500 each
    Criteria: Demonstration of outstanding research abilities in the Dept. of EE at UW
    Recipients: Seongwon Kim and John Rockway

IBM Teaching Assistant Award

    Gift Amount: $1,000
    Criteria: Demonstration of outstanding teaching abilities in the Dept. of EE at UW
    Recipient: Joshua Olsen

Preston, Gates & Ellis Intangiblity Award

    Gift Amount: $1000
    Recipient: David Dorwin

Accenture Technology Scholarship

    Scholarship Amount: Full Undergraduate Resident Tuition for three quarters
    Recipient: Denise Dennis

Mike Elke Scholarship

    Scholarship Amount: Full Undergraduate Resident Tuition for three quarters
    Recipient: Andrew Farhat
