COE Career Day 2001

About Career Day

The UW College of Engineering's Career Day is a once-a-year chance for talented high school students to get a feel for what a typical day in college life is like - including labs, classes, homework, and social activities. The College of Engineering hosts this group of students with the intent of recruiting them into engineering and hopefully, to the University of Washington.

Interested students participate in a competitive application process to be paired with an undergraduate or college professor for the day. In 2000, most of the applicants were seniors; however, some ambitious sophomores and juniors were there as well.

This year's Career Day will take place on April 23rd from approximately 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. It will be similar to last year's event, however we will be including an informational video session about the departments within the College. We will also be inviting new speakers who represent not only engineering faculty, but industries who are involved with engineering so that students can be exposed to the wide range of options available to them when they enter this dynamic field.
