EE Students Wow in Table Tennis Tournament

The International Association of College Unions Regional Tennis Table Tournament was held in Boise, Idaho in February. The region includes Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Saskatchewan.

Electrical Engineering graduate student Anna Pyayt won three first Place medals. Anna finished first in women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

Electrical Engineering undergraduate Viraj Desai won two medals. Viraj took first in men's doubles, and finished third in men's singles.

The third big winner from the UW College of Engineering is an undergraduate in the Computer Engineering program. Constantinos Papadopoulos won three first place medals: men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. Constantinos is working with Professor Radha Poovendran (although as far as we know, Radha is not responsible for his table tennis prowess).

All the winners are invited to the National Tennis Table Tournament in San Jose in April. We extend hearty congratulations and wish them the best of luck at the National Tournament!
