ArtEEse 2006 (the EE Art Walk)

ArtEEse returned on May 12, 2006, after a one-year hiatus. The event informally exhibits art work by EE faculty, staff, students and associates. Works were displayed in the EE Main Office suite over an extended lunch hour, with most of the responsible artists on hand to discuss their works. The pEEpinator, the host with the most, presided over the event.

All of the items exhibited offered something to visitors, however, a few stood out in comments overheard. Sarah McQuaide's clocks were very popular. Kia Lashgari kindly risked his prized ceramics in our care. Photography was strongly represented by the work of Sekar Thiagarajan, Travis Saling, Apurva Mishra, Vikram Jandhyala, Bill Lynes and Leo Lam. Folk art and allied fields were represented by knitwear from Kathy Burch and Lynette Marks, scrapbooks by Pam Eisenheim, a drawing and associated text by Phil Roan, and jewelry by Karen Fisher, while Steve Hobbs and Brian Bartek reminded us of the visceral strength of seemingly primitive art. Darcy Atlas also contributed an early drawing, hopefully a portent of future work. Finally, Helena Dworakowski provided a large and impressive array of art by herself and other family members.

We would also like to thank the following individuals for volunteering their time to set up and break down the exhibits and otherwise assist in preparations: Johnny Young, Elisha Breshears, Monica Leibrant and Brian Bartek.

We hope to see more artists and viewers in 2007!
