Hochberg wins Air Force Young Investigator funding
Michael Hochberg's proposal "Nanophotonic Devices in Silicon for Nonlinear Optics" was one of 29 receiving funding as part of the Air Force's inaugural Young Investigator Research Program.
The Air Force Office of Scientific Research awarded approximately $9.5 million to the winners in this new program. Competition was intense, with 215 proposals having been submitted. The objective of this program is to foster creative basic research in science and engineering, enhance early career development of outstanding young investigators, and increase opportunities for the young investigators to recognize the Air Force mission and the related challenges in science and engineering.
