Patel Wins TechFlash Newsmaker of The Year
EE and CSE Assistant Professor Shwetak Patel has been awarded the 2010 TechFlash Newsmaker of The Year Award. Patel faced stiff competition as his fellow nominees in this category included Paul Allen, Steve Ballmer, Jeff Bezos, Ben Huh, and Andy Sack. Patel has been making quite a news splash for "selling Zensi, a home energy monitoring startup to Belkin, as well as for separately developing a novel method of using electrical wiring as a wireless antenna system, spawning another startup."
