OpSIS in July Issue of SPIE Professional Magazine

The July 2011 issue of SPIE Professional Magazine features an article on OpSIS, UW's recently launched foundry service for silicon photonic chips, directed by Assistant Professor Michael Hochberg. In the article, it mentions that opening such a service "signals a 'new age' for optical integrated circuits, one that could revolutionize the computing industry as well as communications, biomedicine, and imaging." A PDF version of the article titled, "Foundry service aids silicon photonic chips" can be found here.

SPIE Professional Magazine covers topics on optics and photonics research, career and funding opportunities in photonics, and optics industry trends. It is the member magazine for SPIE, the international society advancing an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light.
