Shwetak N. Patel, winner of the India Abroad Face of the Future Award
Shwetak N. Patel has won the 'Face of the Future Award' at the India Abroad Person of the Year event held in New York on June 29, 2012. India Abroad is the oldest and most widely-circulated Indian-American weekly newspaper; it is published from five locations in North America, and owned by Rediff.com. Since its inception in 2002, the awards presented by India Abroad have become the most coveted community honor in the country. This year's event celebrated achievements across a wide spectrum in seven categories.
Past winners of the Face of the Future Award include Naveen Selvadurai, co-founder of FourSquare and Manjul Bhargava, the youngest full professor at Princeton University.
