UW EE Alum Selected as Boeing Associate Technical Fellow

UW EE Alumnus Krishna Sampigethaya (Ph.D., 2007), a member of the Network Security Lab (NSL) in the department, has been selected as an Associate Technical Fellow of The Boeing Company for his engineering and aviation cyber security expertise. Dr. Sampigethaya has been an advanced technologist in the Boeing Research & Technology division since November, 2007. His doctoral dissertation was advised by Professor Radha Poovendran.

Evaluation criteria in the technical fellowship selection process include the candidate’s technical knowledge and judgment, creative problem solving and innovation, technical leadership, advising and consulting, capability as a teacher and mentor, and technical vision. Fewer than 1.5 percent of Boeing's employees are selected members of the Technical Fellowship Program, established as part of the company's technical-excellence programs, which creates a community of leaders who help shape Boeing's future.
