Alumnus Loukas Lazos Promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure

EE Alum Loukas Lazos was promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure at the University of Arizona, Tucson, effective August 2013. Loukas was a member of the Network Security Lab (NSL) at the EE Department of the University of Washington. His doctoral dissertation was advised by Professor Radha Poovendran.

Loukas stayed on for one more year as a postdoctoral faculty and co-director of the NSL before joining the University of Arizona. Loukas also collaborated with NSL affiliate faculty member Jim Ritcey during his stay at NSL as a postdoctoral faculty. Loukas received the NSF CAREER Award in 2009 for his research in wireless security.

During his doctoral studies, Loukas was also a player/coach of the Husky volleyball team, a game that he started playing in Greece and continues to this date in Arizona.
