Alumnus Jeyanandh Paramesh Promoted to Associate Professor

Alumnus Jeyanandh Paramesh (PhD '01) was promoted to the rank of associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, effective July 1, 2013. Jeyanandh was a member of the System-on-Chip (SoC) Laboratory at UW EE. His doctoral dissertation was advised by Professor David Allstot.

While pursuing his PhD, Jeyanandh collaborated closely with the Intel Communication Circuits Research Laboratory, led by the late Dr. Soumyanath Krishnamurthy, where he was a Graduate Student Researcher from 2002-2004. He also received an Intel Foundation PhD Fellowship. He developed and demonstrated the first fully-integrated CMOS multi (four)-antenna receiver which featured an active Cartesian combining technique that has become an industry standard. He also demonstrated the first fully-integrated silicon Doherty power amplifier as well as leading-edge data converters in CMOS for RF applications. His current research focuses on mm-wave and reconfigurable RF systems in CMOS.

He is active in both undergraduate and graduate teaching and curriculum reform in ECE at CMU.
