Master’s Student Kelly Kozdras Featured in Wogrammer

EE master’s student Kelly Kozdras was featured in a recent wogrammer article, which breaks down stereotypes about engineers.

Kozdras got her start in engineering after doing well in math and science while growing up and learning that engineering was a good background for entering various fields. Prior to pursuing graduate studies at UW EE, Kozdras worked as an electrical engineer for about 10 years, which included a year working in Antarctica.

Having completed her classwork requirements, Kozdras is currently working on her master’s thesis. She is a member of the Renewable Energy Analysis Lab, working on a project with Puget Sound Energy in Glacier, WA. The project entails modeling and a transient stability analysis of a small hydropower plant and battery energy storage system connected as a microgrid.

After graduating, Kozdras plans pursue engineering positions in the area of power, energy and renewable energy.

Congrats, Kelly!
