Assistant Professor Shwetak Patel won TechFlash’s Newsmaker of the Year award. Fellow nominees included Paul Allen, Steve Ballmer, Jeff Bezos, Ben Huh, and Andy Sack.

Professors Karl Böhringer and Jim Ritcey were name 2011 IEEE Fellows.

Alumnus Patrick Loughlin was also named an IEEE Fellow for 2011. Loughlin received his PhD in 1992 and was advised by Professor Les Atlas.

Adjunct Professor Gaetano Borriello has also been named a 2011 IEEE Fellow.

Professor Vikram Jandhyala was named an Inaugural Entrepreneurial Fellow. Candidates for this honor were nominated by department chairs and C4C technology managers.

The Fall 2010 Issue of The Integrator is online
EE’s semi-annual newsletter for alumni and friends (The Integrator) is now online with hard copies of the issue now available. This issue has some great articles about student awards and achievements as well as a few sound bites on interesting research projects that have recently been in the media.
